When you visit our website, the following technical access data is automatically collected:

This data is stored to ensure smooth operation and for statistical analysis. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

Contact Form

When you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details (name, email address, message) are stored for processing the request. We do not share this data without your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

Newsletter

For the newsletter we use the double opt-in procedure: after you sign up we send you an email containing a confirmation link, and only once you confirm it do we add you to the list. We store your email address, the chosen language, the wording of your consent as well as the IP address and time of both signup and confirmation — the latter serves as proof of consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link at the end of every newsletter; we keep a record of the unsubscribe so as not to contact you again. If you do not confirm the signup, we delete the entry after six months at the latest.

Shipping with DHL / parcel notification

To deliver your order, we pass your name and delivery address to Deutsche Post AG / DHL Paket GmbH (Charles-de-Gaulle-Straße 20 / Sträßchensweg 10, 53113 Bonn, Germany). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract). We only pass your email address to DHL if you have expressly consented to this during checkout — DHL uses it to send you the parcel notification with the expected delivery date. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). Consent is voluntary and not required for the order; as proof, we store its wording together with the order. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future by email to info@campmatic.de; this does not affect the lawfulness of any transfer made before the withdrawal. DHL's own privacy notices also apply to the processing by DHL.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by IONOS (1&1 IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). The servers are located in Germany.

5. No Cookies, No Tracking

This website uses no cookies, no tracking tools (such as Google Analytics), no external fonts (Google Fonts), and no social media plugins. We only transmit data to third parties to process your order or with your consent, e.g. to the shipping provider DHL (see section 3, “Shipping with DHL / parcel notification”).

6. Email Communication

For sending emails (e.g. contact form confirmations), we use the SMTP service of IONOS. Processing takes place on servers in Germany in accordance with GDPR.

7. CampMatic App (iOS and Android)

Our app for iOS and Android displays the CampMatic web interface (campmatic.de/app) and adds features of your smartphone. Your customer account and the data of your CampMatic are handled the same way as when you use the browser. In addition, the app processes the following data. You can delete your account at any time in the app under “More” → “Delete account”.

Setup via Bluetooth and app lock

To set up a CampMatic, the app searches for nearby devices via Bluetooth. The Wi-Fi name and password you enter are transmitted by the app exclusively via Bluetooth directly to your CampMatic; they are not sent to our servers. To check the device PIN, the app transmits the device number and PIN to our server; to prevent misuse, we store verification attempts with IP address and time. To detect a CampMatic on the same network, we compare the IP address of your smartphone with that of your CampMatic; we do not store the result. The optional app lock using fingerprint or face recognition relies solely on your operating system; we do not receive any biometric data. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract) and, for preventing misuse, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)

If you allow push notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. For this, Firebase creates a device-specific identifier (token) on your smartphone, which we link to your customer account together with a random installation ID, the operating system, the app version and the time of last use. For each notification we transmit the token as well as the title and text of the message (e.g. “Device offline” or a temperature alert) to Google, which delivers it to your smartphone; on iPhones, delivery additionally takes place via the Apple Push Notification service of Apple Inc. Processing in the USA cannot be ruled out; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. We do not use Firebase Analytics or similar analyses. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give via your smartphone’s permission prompt. You can switch off push notifications at any time in the app under “More” or in your smartphone’s settings. We delete the token when you switch off push in the app, log out or delete your account, and at the latest after 270 days without use.

8. Support and Fault Analysis

When you send us a support request via the app, we look at the data of the CampMatic your request relates to in order to handle it: current readings and settings, the stored history (e.g. temperatures and on-board voltage), the commands from your customer account with their time, the notifications sent and the device logs. We only do this to the extent necessary for your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract). Independently of individual requests, we analyse technical device data such as connection drops, restarts and firmware versions across all devices in order to detect faults and improve the firmware. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in trouble-free operation). You can object to this analysis at any time (Art. 21 GDPR), for example by email to info@campmatic.de.
