Modifications compared to the upstream project
The firmware shipped contains a modified version of the truma_inetbox component. The modifications adapt it to ESPHome 2026.1.5 and newer and integrate the CampMatic-specific sensors. The modified source files are part of the source package available through the channels listed above.
Installation information
In accordance with section 6(3) of the GPL-3.0 we provide the information required to install a self-built firmware. Connect the box to a computer via the USB port of the ESP32 module and write the image using the free esptool utility:
esptool --chip esp32 write_flash -z 0x0 firmware.factory.bin
No signature checks, bootloader locks or comparable technical measures are in place that would prevent installing your own firmware; secure boot is not enabled. After installing your own firmware, the connection to the CampMatic services and support are no longer available. The statutory warranty on the hardware remains unaffected.
